It took me mere minutes to swipe through all the men in my small college town in northern Utah. 85 miles away in Salt Lake City, Rob had just decided to expand his dating radius to see what other options were out there, yet thinking he'd never do long-distance dating. A few right swipes and some flirty texts later, we met each other halfway on a random Tuesday night for wings and beer (a strangely "bro-ish" first date). Rob talked for 75% of the date, and that was just fine with me. We fell for each other quickly; after a handful of dates and weekend visits, we became boyfriends. We spent the next several months driving back and forth between our homes every weekend. Although Rob had almost no prior experience with kids, he connected well with the boys and transitioned nicely into the "dad role." Eventually I found work in Salt Lake and we moved in together.
