Three years ago on Christmas Day, Thomas asked PJ to marry him under twinkling lights while our song played in the background. We couldn’t have known what was in store for us then, but, if we could somehow go back, we would tell ourselves that while it seems it should, life won’t always be rainbows and butterflies, that you will fight and feel like you never want to talk to each other again, that even though you have been in love for so long you will still need reminding of it from time to time, and that’s okay. We would tell them that marriage takes work, but it’s the most rewarding work in the world. We would want them to know it’s alright to not always agree on everything, but to make sure to always respect the other’s decision. And always, always, always remember the importance of putting each other first, because while we couldn’t have known what was in store for us back then, figuring it out together makes it all worth it. #tbt #engagement
