Bro, do you even quarantine? When your social distancing selfies look like the next hottest album about to drop, then we think so! 💁‍♂️⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ Meet dads Victor and Chris. They live in Los Angeles, CA, with their two daughters. You might recognize them from “Pregnant in Heels” on @bravo which showcased the birth of their second daughter — the episode was later nominated for a @glaad media award. 🤩⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ During the quarantine, the family has tried their best to keep creative and busy. “We’ve been playing this game during quarantine where everybody gets to pick a 30-minute activity that everyone must do without complaining.” 🤣👏😊⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ “I didn't expect that our girls would be so much fun to hang out with so young.  They are halfway to being adults and this time at home has been a precious way to connect and really get to know them before their teen years.” 💁‍♀️💕✌️⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ But the quarantine hasn’t been all fun and games. 😖 “We normally have a fun Fathers Day pool party for our gay dad friends.  Sadly, it looks like we are going to cancel it this year, but hopefully it will be back next year.  I strongly encourage folks in other cities to get together.  It is a great way to celebrate Fathers' Day and build community.“ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ Thanks for chatting @victorself and @tisfraley! Keep up the stellar photos! 📸 💕🏳️‍🌈💫

Manny is a family nurse practitioner. He and his husband have three kids. 😊💕 He is today's #GWKhero. 🙌🏳️‍🌈⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ "The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many, including the practice, to limit direct patient contact and implement other means such as telecommunication to reach our demographic."⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ His husband is a small business owner and also studying to become a physician assistant! Due to #COVID19 he has had to close his business for the time being, he now commits himself full-time to his studies and taking care of their kids. 💕📖 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ "The kids have been troopers through this ordeal. Our nine and seven-year-old boys have acclimated well to completing schoolwork at home and have been able to keep up with their assignments... Keeping our two-year-old toddler entertained has probably been harder. She has discovered different rooms around the house to play in and also enjoys trailing around with her brothers' toys." 🤣👌⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ "I would like for people to understand that the clear message from top experts is that the virus is likely to linder and continue to wreak havoc. Following the recommendations is of the utmost." 👍⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ On parenting during the pandemic: "This situation has stressed us not only financially, but emotionally. Through this all, the silver lining is that we thankfully have steered clear of the virus and have more time to spend together and enjoy each other. My advice is for patents to take advantage of this time to connect with their kids in different ways, read more books and soak up as much sun as you can." 📚🌞 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Thank you for keeping us safe @dr.mannyfnp! 💕🌈💫

Dr. Chad Martins is on the #COVID19 ward at his hospital. He lives in Savannah, GA, with his husband and their adorable daughter. He is today's #GWKhero. 💕🌈⁣ ⁣ "While we currently have adequate supplies of PPE, there is always this fear that another surge might wipe us out. It feels paralyzing that our patients are getting so sick and there is so little information out there on treatments that prove to be beneficial."⁣ ⁣ Dr. Martins' husband, Ray, is also a doctor, but fortunately is able to see his patients via telemedicine. "We also live close to our surrogate who has been very gracious and watches our daughter while Ray is on appointments. We feel very blessed to have developed such a strong connection with her and her family."⁣ ⁣ The dads say that to deal with all of the at-home time, they have upped screen time. Recently though, they've been migrating to one "no TV" day per week. Dr. Martins shared: "I really think we're just all trying to do our best."⁣ ⁣ On parenting and being a doctor: "I think one thing people should know is that the future is very unpredictable...I think there is a strong possibility that we will have another surge and many more cases to come. While there is still a lot of reporting and research ongoing, we still have no idea how to treat the very ill once they get sick."⁣ ⁣ He strongly urges folks to stay home as much as possible, to stay healthy and keep their loved ones healthy. ⁣ ⁣ "As a parent, I am taking every precaution to keep my husband and daughter healthy. That means sleeping in another room and using a separate bathroom. I wear a mask at home. I haven't had a hug in six weeks. But it's a small price to pay for the ease of mind that comes with protecting my family."⁣ ⁣ Thank you so much for keeping us safe @theotherdad. We appreciate your sacrifice! 💕🏳️‍🌈💫

Dads David and Clint live in Portland, OR, with their energetic son. 👨‍👨‍👦☀️🌈 David is a clinical outreach social worker and his husband works in hospital administration. They are today's #GWKheroes. 🥰🏳️‍🌈💕⁣ ⁣ Much of David's work has been impacted by #COVID19. Many of the people he works with daily comprise marginalized communities, and it's his job to help them navigate this newly-shifted medical landscape. "I meet folks wherever they are at be it a doctor's appointment, mental health appointment, substance abuse treatment, in shelters or on the street." ⁣ ⁣ The spread of the virus hasn't stopped these needs from occurring, it's only exacerbated the problem. What was once familiar territory for many has completely changed and now many vulnerable persons are in need of assistance navigating the healthcare system. That's where David comes in. ⁣ ⁣ "I work with them to reach success in whatever way they define it. The population with which I work is often medically fragile and has limited access to care. Indirectly, all programs that once helped them have become even harder to access out of fear of contracting the virus. We are struggling to get people shelter and food and other basic needs."⁣ ⁣ Clint's work, which was once focused on hospital process improvement, has been totally shifted to managing the influx of COVID-19 cases and patients. ⁣ ⁣ They say that the situation has been difficult on their son, who misses seeing his friends. They also stress that they're making an active effort to enjoy a significant amount of family time, which so far has lessened the impact. ⁣ ⁣ David said: "The main thing I would like folks to remember is that marginalized communities don't just vanish because we're at home. Homeless folks, queer folks, people of color already lived with significant stressors in their lives that are now compunded by this virus... Housing is healthcare, equity is healthcare, and social justice is healthcare."⁣ ⁣ Thank you both for your roles in keeping all members of our society safe, @theboywonderpdx and @clintsanborn. 💕🏳️‍🌈💫

Dads Johnathon and Blair are today's #GWKheroes! Johnathon is a paramedic, and his husband Blair is a news reporter. 🥰🏳️‍🌈 Together they have three awesome boys. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Johnathon's work as a paramedic has been altered significantly by #COVID19. He shared: "Because of COVID-19, families are no longer allowed to be with patients. A patient's family is their support system through difficult times, so it's difficult when they're not able to join them."⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Blair is also working hard to bring the community news to keep us safe from the virus. Johnathon shared again: "Our crew has been amazing by creating a studio in the home office. It's pretty cool that we can still do TV but in a more raw and organic way. At first, it was cute when our boys made "Daddy On-Air" signs, now I get a nervous twitch every night right before he goes on air."⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Recently, one of their sons walked in on their dad while he was live on-air! (Swipe to pic 3)🤣😍🏳️‍🌈⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ As a paramedic, Johnathon has a piece of advice he wishes everyone would follow: "It's important for people to know that by staying home and practicing social distancing, they have an opportunity to be a real lifesaver and hero."👌⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ He closed with: "While we have to be easy on the kids, we have to be easy on each other as spouses. Self care is huge on so many levels."✌️🌈⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Thank you @johnathonb and @blairmillertv for all that you do! Please stay safe out there! 💕🏳️‍🌈💫

We 💕 doctors! Dr. Antwon Chavis is today's #GWKhero. ⁣ ⁣ Dr. Antwon Chavis is a pediatrician in Portland, OR. He's pictured here with his husband Nate (right) and their awesome daughter (future doctor in-training?). He is an attending physician and Assistant Professor at a prominent academic hospital in the Portland area. ⁣ ⁣ Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Chavis has said that life has been nothing short of busy and hectic. He says that in addition to all that is going on, however, this is all a great opportunity to teach his daughter about germs and how to stay germ-free. ⁣ ⁣ "Something like this shouldn't be the first time kids hear about germs. We should teach them to wash their hands and be as safe as possible from a young age. There has been a lot of discussion in our house about germs and what a coronavirus is. She understands but is more concerned about why she can't see her friends or why she has to wear a mask."⁣ ⁣ Dr. Chavis also stressed that a situation like this should be as stress-free as possible for the kids. "I think they can be aware of what's happening in the world without being afraid. Use child friendly language! Remind them that this isn't forever and that we'll see our friends and family again soon. Tell them that things are going to be OK."⁣ ⁣ A note to parents: "Overall, kids are more mildly affected by #covid19 than adults, but that doesn't mean that they're totally immune! If a parent is worried, they should trust their instinct and talk to their doctor no matter what. Kids are still getting colds, kids are still getting pneumonia, infections, and rashes — so you still need to remain aware." ⁣ ⁣ Dr. Chavis says that if you have to reach out to a doctor, make sure you're aware of any telemedicine protocols in place.⁣ ⁣ "I'm a pediatrician and a foster dad. I do what a lot of other physicians do. I take my shoes off at the door, and before hugs and cuddles, I have to strip my scrubs off and shower. I'm trying to keep my family and neighborhood safe the best that I can since I'm at the hospital everyday."⁣ ⁣ Thank you for chatting @achavis56. 💕🏳️‍🌈 Thank you for all that you do to keep us safe and healthy. 👏👏👏

Kazimierz jest kolejnym członkiem naszego stowarzyszenia, a także należny do Wiary i Tęczy! 🔥 Co mówi o sobie Kazik? ,,Jestem w Komitecie Doradczym Fundacji Wiara i Tęcza. A dlatego Tam należę bo jestem wierzącym, praktykującym katolikiem. ❤️
