Meet dads Darren & Mike. They live in Bowen Island, British Columbia, with their twin sons. 💕👨‍👨‍👦‍👦🏳️‍🌈⁣ ⁣ The two recently became parents through adoption, and as a family they enjoy spending time outdoors among their scenic surroundings. 🌳🥰🥾 ⁣ ⁣ One of the dads works in healthcare, and although the two are on paternity leave, he's prepared to jump back into work as early as necessary to assist the other frontline workers. The other dad runs a business which has unfortunately been greatly affected by #COVID19.⁣ ⁣ "Our boys are troopers and handling the situation very well. As we have just finished our 6-month adoption residency, the only major changes have been the inability to see friends and family in person. We've mitigated this through plenty of video and phone calls."⁣ ⁣ "Adoption has been the most rewarding challenge in both of our lives. However it's not all puppy dogs and lollipops. Meet Daddy Heath and Papa Carlos. They live in New York City with their newborn son (though they're currently quarantined in Los Angeles). 🍎👨‍👨‍👦🌴 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The couple became dads through surrogacy! "We flew out to Los Angeles about three weeks before our due date thinking that would be plenty of time. As soon as we landed at LAX and turned our phones on, messages from our surrogate and her husband started blowing us up! We literally raced straight from the airport to the hospital and made it just in time to be a part of the entire birth." 💁‍♀️😉⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ "Our surrogate was so incredible that we are CONVINCED she waited until we were on the plane to let her cervix relax and POOF, baby was ready!" 💫👶🍼 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ So far as a family they love to sing, have dance parties, and make music videos — a Lady Gaga song for the dads and a Dora the Explorer song for their son. 🎶👯‍♂️🎥 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ "We love to share our journey, because we didn't know many gay couples that had gone through surrogacy! Fernando and Luis are doctors in Quito, Ecuador. Together they have an adorable little girl! 💕👨‍👨‍👧 They are today's #GWKheroes. 🙌❤️⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ "We are doing our best to not be affected emotionally. It is a hard situation and our country has already been on lockdown for almost two months. They became very close with their surrogate and enjoyed the whole process. "The journey had its highs and quite a few lows. Wczoraj niemiecki Bundestag 🇩🇪 przegłosował ustawę zakazującą 🚫 "terapii konwersyjnej", czyli praktyki mającej na celu zmianę orientacji seksualnej lub stłumienie popędu seksualnego. . Projekt ustawy został złożony przez Jensa Spahna - wyoutowanego ministra zdrowia, a w grudniu zaaprobowany przez rząd, na czele którego stoi Angela Merkel (CDU, chrześcijańska demokracja). . Lewicowe partie zwracają uwagę, że projekt nie idzie daleko - zakaz dotyczy jedynie osób poniżej 18 roku życia. . Sankcje (grzywny oraz do roku pozbawienia wolności) mogą dotyczyć nie tylko grup, które takie "terapie" miałyby przeprowadzać, ale też rodziców, którzy do takich "terapii" mieliby zmuszać swe dzieci. . Wg badań ok. 1000 osób rocznie w Niemczech poddawanych jest "terapiom konwersyjnym". Ile w Polsce? Hołowni i Kidawie z taka łatwością przyszło dzisiaj zadeklarować weto dla małżeństw jednopłciowych i adopcji. Kidawa zdążyła dodać, że są ważniejsze rzeczy do zrobienia - zadbać np. o dzieci (edukacja, dzieci i te pe). Zrobiła to dzisiaj, w rocznicę samobójczej śmierci Milo, która w zderzeniu z transfobią poddała się i rok temu skoczyła z mostu w Warszawie, gdzie dzisiaj zapalono znicze. Milo, Dominik z Biezunia, Kacper z Gorczyna, Wiktor z Warszawy. Nie są warci nawet wspomnienia w jednej minucie, jaką mieli kandydaci. Brak zgody na małżeństwa jednopłciowe czy wspomnienia o innych rozwiązanych/propozycjach to przejaw głębszej homo-transfobii tych „liberalnych” kandydatów. Zdjęcie poniżej zrobiłem w zeszłym roku podczas marszu równości w Białymstoku. Wtedy urządzano polowania na dzieciaki, które rozchodziły się po pochodzie a w uczestników rzucano kamieniami. Rozwiązań systemowych także na ten temat trudno szukać. Dzisiaj już wiemy, ze wybory prezydenckie zostaną przełożone. Jeśli będzie to okolica września, to na wolność powinna już wyjść para z Lublina, która na lubelskim marszu chciała zdetonować ładunki wybuchowe domowej roboty. Dzięki "ugodzie" z prokuratorem dostali tylko rok więzienia. Bo taki mamy klimat. To też nie jest temat na debatę wyborczą. W Polsce homo/transfobiczna mowa nienawiści nie jest prawnie ścigana. ⚠️ Nierówne traktowanie osób LGBT+ w Polsce rodzi wiele absurdów, które skutecznie zniechęcają nas do życia w tym kraju. Jednym z takich idiotyzmów jest sytuacja pięcioletniego Victora, którego państwo skazuje na życie bez dokumentów. Wszystko dlatego, że jest synem dwóch lesbijek. ⚠️ Victor nie posiada numeru PESEL, paszportu ani żadnego innego polskiego dokumentu potwierdzającego tożsamość. Formalnie w Polsce nie istnieje. Dlaczego? W zagranicznym akcie urodzenia dziecka widnieją dwie matki. Dla polskich urzędników to wystarczający powód, aby skazać rodzinę Victora na wieloletnią tułaczkę po sądach. Ich walka trwa już od kwietnia 2016 roku. ⚠️ Ostatnio patową sytuację mógł zakończyć prezydent Warszawy Rafał Trzaskowski. Zdecydował jednak nie wydać Victorowi dokumentów i skierować sprawę do Wojewody Mazowieckiego. Rodzinę chłopca czekają kolejne miesiące życia w niepewności. ⚠️ Victor nie jest jedynym dzieckiem w podobnej sytuacji. Polska nie chce wydawać dokumentów dzieciom Polaków i Polek, które urodziły się za granicą. Dwóch ojców lub dwie matki wpisane w akcie urodzenia oznaczają kłopoty. To tylko jeden z absurdów, z którymi muszą radzić sobie tęczowe rodziny w Polsce. 🏳️‍🌈 Sprawę Victora prowadzi @kph_official - tam możecie przeczytać więcej o jego sytuacji.

Ahmaud Arbery was lynched while jogging by two white men who claimed they were conducting a citizen's arrest. He was killed for being black in public. There is a video of the murder and neither of his murders have been charged because of the systemic racism that pervades every part of the American "Justice" system. I use this account to talk LGBTQIAA+ issues. So I am posting about this here because I believe that (all people but especially) queer people are impacted by and have an obligation to call out and fight racism. ______ Can a non-black queer person understand what it is like to be black in America? ABSOLUTELY NOT. @zararahim recently quoted Claudia Rankine “there is no mode of empathy that can replicate the daily strain of knowing that as a black person you can be killed for simply being black: no hands in your pockets, no playing music, no sudden movements, no driving your car, no walking at night, no walking in the day, no turning onto this street, no entering this building, no standing your ground, no standing here, no standing there, no talking back, no playing with toy guns, no living while black. ” ______ Systemic murderous racism is a queer issue because it impacts queer people and a world that is less racist is a world that is less queerphobic, anti-Semitic and Islamphobic. It comes as no surprise that as of 2019 hate crimes are rising in Georgia at the second highest rate of any other other state in the country except one. Hate crimes rose by 219 percent in Georgia between 2013 and 2017 with race/ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation as the biggest motivators. African-Americans, Jews, and gay men were found to be the most targeted in each of those three groups. ______ The cold blooded murder of #AhmaudArbery is about systemic and violent racism in America. Period. I am not trying to change the subject, I am trying to tell my primarily queer and often Jewish audience that this is an important moment for them to speak up and show up. In September 1955, Richard (aka Richard Penniman) played for his producer a sexually explicit song he‘d made up on the road; he called it “Tutti Frutti.” Sensing a hit, the producer had a songwriter change some of the lyrics, and Richard recorded a cleaner version in three takes. It was an instant success, followed by the bigger hit, “Long Tall Sally.” . In the ‘60s, as he toured Europe, Richard became a mentor to The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. In 1964, a man named Maurice James joined Richard’s band and spent about two years learning from the legend; James later changed his name to Jimi Hendrix. . As with many queer people of his generation—and particularly people of color raised in the Bible Belt—Richard faced harsh disapprobation for most of his life. Kicked out of his house at fifteen because of his penchant for dressing up in his mother’s clothes, he was a drag performer in the early ‘50s, and he racked up a number of lewd conduct arrests for various cruising activities. . In 1984, he told an interviewer that he felt homosexuality was “unnatural,” though he considered himself “omnisexual.” By 1995, however, he felt comfortable enough to tell an interviewer that he always knew he was gay. In a recent interview on a Christian broadcast, Richard again distanced himself from his “past,” claiming he wanted to “be holy like Jesus.” . In any event, Little Richard was a trailblazing queer person whose work influenced, among many others, Chuck Berry, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Prince, Patti Smith, and Lou Reed. #HavePrideInHistory #RestInPower
