GLAAD ogłosiło w środę nominacje do 33. nagród GLAAD Media Awards. Nagroda GLAAD Media Awards, ustanowiona w 1990 r., „uhonorują media za uczciwe, dokładne i inkluzywne reprezentowanie osób LGBTQ”. Oprócz mediów drukowanych i cyfrowych, GLAAD honoruje produkcje filmowe i telewizyjne, które wyróżniają się w tym celu.
Spośród nominowanych 63 są dla serwisów streamingowych, 39 dla telewizji kablowej, a 17 z sieci ogólne kanałów.
HBO/HBO Max ma najwięcej nominacji 19, a następnie Netflix z 17. Hulu ma siedem nominacji. ABC, MSNBC i Peacock otrzymały po cztery nominacje. Univision i Telemundo mają po dwie nominacje w kategoriach hiszpańskojęzycznych.
GLAAD ogłosił również, że specjalna nagroda imienia Barbarya Gittings Award for Excellence in LGBTQ Media, która honoruje pionierskie wniosły znaczący wkład w rozwój mediów LGBTQ+, trafi do lesbijskiej dziennikarki i założycielki Curve Magazine Franco Stevensa.
